When the brain's project manager needs an assistant.

Bright teen, missing homework, panicked all-nighters. Executive function coaching builds the systems that bridge intention and action.

What is executive function, in plain words?

The brain's project manager: the machinery that starts tasks, holds the plan, tracks the time, keeps the materials together, and finishes what got started. When it lags behind a young person's intelligence, and it often does, especially with ADHD, you get the maddening gap: a bright teen with missing homework, lost kit, panicked all-nighters, and a backpack that looks like an archaeological dig.

When should we seek coaching?

When effort is not the problem. If your teen genuinely means to do the work and the follow-through keeps failing anyway, more pressure will not fix it, because pressure does not install skills. Coaching does: concretely, one system at a time.

What does the coaching cover?

Staying focused and managing distraction. Planning ahead and meeting deadlines. Keeping track of tasks and materials. Breaking goals into steps small enough to start. Beating procrastination at the moment of starting, which is where it lives. Regulating the stress and frustration that failure has attached to schoolwork. The systems are built with your teen, around their actual life, so they survive contact with a real Tuesday.

Sessions run in person in North Vancouver and online across the UK and Canada. Times and logistics live on those pages; every fee is on the fees page. Not sure counselling is what your child needs? Start with that question, or counselling vs coaching.

Is this only for teens with ADHD?

No diagnosis is needed. The skills are the same for any young person whose follow-through lags their ability, though the approach is built with neurodivergent wiring fully in mind.

How is this delivered?

Through the teen coaching programs: usually online, weekly to start, ages 13 to 24. Details and pricing are on the teen coaching page.
