How can we help?

Counselling & Coaching

Children and young people can feel confused and overwhelmed by difficult life events. They often struggle to find words to express how they feel and make sense of their situation. Using creative therapies like play, art, drama and music offers them a safe and supportive space to express their inner world and work through a wide range of social and emotional issues including:

  • anxiety and worries

  • low self-esteem

  • family issues such as divorce & separation, sibling rivalry

  • loss & bereavement

  • change of schools, learning difficulties

  • friendship issues, being bullied

  • ADHD, ADS

  • attachment and relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse

  • communication and behavioural difficulties

What are the benefits?

Children and young people often experience immediate changes in their social and emotional well-being including:

  • increased self-confidence and self-awareness

  • released distress and anxiety

  • improved relationships through more effective ways of communication

  • increased emotional resilience

  • enhanced overall well-being and enjoyment of life

Our daughter has made such great progress. Her panic attacks have gone and she is now able to deal with her separation anxieties more rationally. As a family we have started a really good journey and can articulate feelings head on rather than skirting around issues. We also have established positive structures around bedtime and working together as a family team.

The sessions helped me to open up with my sisters and to recognise that we share the same experience. This has brought us much closer, which is really great!

At first I didn’t wanted to do counselling but now I think it’s really good as it has helped me become more confident in speaking & discussing my emotions.

There are so ways in which our daughter has improved since starting counselling to the extent that on a day-to-day basis she is much happier and really is living a sustainable life which she was fundamentally struggling to do before. .

My daughter has really appreciated and enjoyed her sessions with you. ...we are able to enjoy each other’s company again and at times I even see glimpses of the old (happy) person I remember.

Thank you for all the support and help you have given my daughter.  It has been a very positive experience for her and we will know, as a family, where to come in the future.

Sandra has been super supportive to our son and to us parents through some very difficult times. She’s worked with him on dealing with anger and expressing feelings, as well as helping us find ways to stop violent behaviour and to instead open up a dialogue between us. We have started to see positive changes in his behaviour and well being, as well as an improved consistency to his happiness. Sandra has shown a deep understanding of her profession at all times, and goes above and beyond with care for the people she works with
